First thank you for your advise to my first question. I followed your directions. And found the ac clutch to be the problem. My next question is: CAN YOU REPLACE THE PULLEY AND CLUTCH WITH OUT HAVING TO REMOVE THE ENTIRE COMPRESSOR?

Yes, but you have to buy a junkyard compressor to do it, aftermarket ones have a different size clutch coil...I did my Town Car like this, all you need to do is remove the screw in the front, pull the clutch, then use snap ring pliers and remove the snap ring, pull the pulley, install is the reverse...wont even need to open the system!

Thanks again, just a screw and a snap ring sounds easy. but how the "H" do you get to it ??? What's the easiest way to attact in the 1999 Ford Taurus clutch removal what seems like an impossible situation, there is no room ? ANY SUGGESTIONS??

If you can't reach in from the right front tire area, you will have to remove the mounting bolts and position it to face down and your access is from under the car.
