I was leaking anti-freeze so I took my car to the mechanic. They said it was a hose, and they had to order the part. A few days later, I got my car back and a bill for $300. They charged over $200 just for the part. I checked NAPA and radiator hoses are nowhere near $200. The item on the bill is listed as "WATER HOSE l SOP" I don't know what that is. I am assuming this is an error on my bill, but I wanted to research further before I make a big stink at the mechanics. Is there ever a hose part that would cost over $200?

Radiator hoses can vary dramatically. Also, they may have changed more than one hose. I have seen some of them well over $100 individually and if he changed more than one, it could easily go over that figure. We also don't know if that included clamps and coolant. That's about as specific as I can get now since we don't know exactly which hoses were changed and what engine you have. There are 6 different 6 cylinder engine options for that car. The 8th digit of the VIN# would tell me which you have.
