The clutch went out. When I depressed the clutch there was a kind of a pop noise then the compression decreased to about half of what it normally is but I was still able to change gears although the clutch engaged much sooner then usual. 8 hours later there was no compression at all and the only way to get it in gear was the turn off the engine and start the engine in gear. What is the fix for this?

What is involved in replacing the slave cylinder? Does the transmission need to be taken off? Is it an easy fix? Thanks very much for responding!! Yes the tranny needs to be out to replace the slave...
