I've never changed transmission fluid in this truck. The instructions on this site are simple. My question is there a torque converter on this truck and if so how do I drain it? Thanks Yorkey

It really isn't hard to service a trans. As far as a torque converter, all automatic transmssions have them. In the old days, people would drill a hole in the converter, drain it, tap threads into it, and put a plug in the hole. However, I don't recommend doing it on the new converters. Basically, when you replace the filter and the gasket, you are only removing about 4 qts of trans fluid. That is what they do now or they flush the entire system. There are machines that you hook up to the cooling lines. With the engine, running, the machine drains the old while it replaces it with new. THat is the only way I would recommend replacing all the fluid on today's cars.

Let me know if you have other questions.
