my husbands truck is overheating to a temp of 240. And it melted his resivor in which we have replaced with a new one we've also replced the clutch fan and thermostat. We have had it to a mechanic who tells us the radiator is cold and has taking out the water pump and had it checked it was fine has had the radiator taken out checked and flushed but it is still running hot. When you turn off engine you can hear it boiling what is wrong with it?

Have you had it chemical tested for a blown head gasket? If the radiator has been flow checked and is good, the thermostat is new, clutch fan, youre positive the water pump is flowing properly, a blown head gasket may be the only thing left. They dont always mix water in the oil when they blow, sometimes is blows out to coolant ports and will cause overheating. Have it tested, the test isnt absolutley 100% but its pretty close

There are kits you can buy to do it. They detect exhaust gasses in the cooling system. The kits should come with instructions on how to perform the test
