Will it cause damage to my truck if I drive it and could it be just bad gas, also the last fill up I put a gas treatment in it would that have caused it?

This code is telling us that one of the sensors is reading out side the normally parameter range, now depending on which sensor is at fault will determine the severity of this problem, there is no way to know until the code is read, it is not a good idea to ignore these codes as the problem may escalate into a serious issue, something like a faulty knock sensor can lead to a hole burnt in a piston if left long enough, at least have the code identified so you know what the problem is.

I have a 05 Ranger 3.0 V6. Rough idle and loss of power and pulling the same exact code after me replacing plugs, wires, coils and fuel filter. Before spending money on converter I took to Ford Dealer and have it diagnosed and making sure it is the converters, Result ended in being 2 stuck valves on drivers side that was causing the problem. Not sure how your truck is running, but the codes I have in it are same as yours.

Engine problem
2000 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 137k miles

my check engine light came on and I went to Checkers. I ran the tester and it said I have insufficiant coolant temp. Code 0125. I was wondering what I can do? Do I put more coolant in my radiator, I am not sure if one of my sensors is out

In my experience, most of the time this code is flashed, its because the thermostat is bad. Try changing the t-stat and gasket, then top off the radiator.

I cant' use a code reader to fix my truck. They don't work. I bought one, tried two more to no avail. In the last tank of gas, truck idles rough, accellerates roughly in easy mode, but smooths up in hurried mode. Decelerates just fine. Put in Heet to dry out possible bad gas, no change. Just replaced fuel filter, no change. Now, I suspect short in ignition or battery wiring because of code reader failing to read. Ever hear of such a thing?

Yes I have. Usually I find a fuse blown for the data line at the dlc plug. Your driveability problem sounds as simple as new spark plugs and wires. Sounds like your dropping a cylinder. When you are easy on the throttle that is when the ignition system will tend to break down. Check back with us and let us know

Is that the same plug the scanner goes into? In-line fuse or something I can find in the fuse panel? Thanks, Sir Tim.

Yes it is the same plug the scanner goes into. I cant at this time tell you what fuse it is because my computer crashed at work. The fuse will be in the fuse box, not a in line fuse.

A quick check of battery voltage revealed it was down to 12.2V, a full volt low, with a working regulator. Knowing it was 7 years old, I replaced it and all the troubles have vanished. Strange since it always started, lights were never dim, but I did put on two new battery cable terminals that could have been corroding on the inside and acting like big resistors, except under full acceleration. Strange, but cured. Don't know if it will accept a code reader or not yet, but back on the road and smooth running. Thanks for your help.

My Ranger has the abs light on, the check engine light on and the o/d light flashes. I have replaced the speed sensor located on the rear differential and the lights are still on.

Yes. If the seal fails on the gas cap it can cause an engine code to appear as an emissions issue.

My ABS light came on and my speedometer stoped working whe the speed was under 40 Miles per hour, My friend told me its a easy problem to fix just replace ther rear speed sensor, It took me 15 miinutes to do the job all went great, I took the truck on a test drive as soon as I started it it was great to see the ABS light off and when I hit the road my speedometer was working like a champ, but the Check engine light came on as soon as I started the truck and wont go off. Please provide me with any comments thank you so much

Hi Andy,

You will need to get the codes pulled. Go by your local parts store and have them pull them for you. Write them down and post them.
