I have noticed the past two days that when I accerate and press in the clutch, my voltage gauge goes to Low and my battery light comes on. Once I am at a level speed with in town driving, the gauge goes back to normal levels. But, when I am at highway speeds, the voltage gauge again goes to Low and the battery lght comes on, usually around 65-70 MPH. Is this a case of an alternator possibly going wrong, or does it sound like it is just time for a new battery.

Check your belt, it may be slipping, if there is a Auto Zone or Advance Auto parts store near you, they can check both battery and altenator, as can other auto parts stores. It is pospble you have something in vehicle drawing alot of amps. Have you added any electrical items lately, or done anything with wiring?

I have not added anything to my truck. It just has the standard "normal" item. I will have someone check my alternator and battery just to make sure they are not the issue. Thank you for your quick response.
