Ford probe, 16v P REG 54,000 miles- LOSS OF POWER

Hi there, Ive noticed a loss of power in my Probe car for the last 6 months especially going up hills or when i get to 3rd gear. It starts fine and then judders and drives slowly, with loss of power. I was told it was the air flow sensor and therefore replaced this part and it hasnt made a difference to the problem.... Id really appreciate any suggestions on this asap....

Have a shop check the catyletic converter. They should have a back-pressure gauge to see if the cat is partially plugged. Tune-up? never know... definitly a fuel filter and fuel pressure test.
