When ive been dring, ive noticed my clutch becoming floppy, on my ford KA? suddenly, i couldnt change gear and my clutch had no force/friction. i added brake fluid as KA's dont have a clutch cable but that didnt work?it is a clutch, or gear box situation, or both?x

first i would try putting a clean peice of cardboard under your transmission/engine for the night and depress the clutch pedal a few times and let it sit overnight.... it almost sounds like to me you have a hydraulic clutch system and your going to want to look for loss of fluid and the such.... good luck :)

Suggested Repair

Place clean cardboard under the transmission and engine overnight, press the clutch pedal several times, and check for hydraulic fluid loss. A floppy clutch with no gear engagement on a Ford KA often points to a hydraulic clutch leak rather than the gearbox itself.

Conversation Summary

The owner of a Ford KA reported a clutch pedal that became floppy and then could not change gears. Adding brake fluid did not restore clutch function. An expert suggested checking the hydraulic clutch system for fluid loss by placing cardboard under the transmission and engine overnight and pressing the clutch pedal.
