My 1996 ford escort estate 1.4 xl manual box petrol with 132000 on clock was running fine, it now will not fire up, petrol pump seems ok, it just cranks over.
The engine is transverse with timming belt facing the passenger side, distributor all in one with the engine, and has leads marked 1 to 4 no centre lead. There is no spark and I was wondering if the ignition module needs replacing, where would I look for it. Thanks

Ignition module is usually on side of distributor.

I think you may have a bad coil. Have it tested first.
