Check the fuses.
Check the fuel filter.
Check the air cleaner.
Check the rollover switch (fuel pump reset button).

You will need fuel and spark for the engine to run. Check for spark at the plugs and fuel at the rail.

Good luck and let us know. :)

Suggested Repair

Check the fuses, fuel filter, air cleaner, and rollover fuel pump reset switch. Confirm spark at the plugs and fuel at the rail, since the engine needs both to run.

Conversation Summary

A 2002 Ford Mustang with 77,000 miles will not start after being shut off, although it had been running fine. The starter sounds healthy, the distributor cap is dry, and the battery is good. The expert advises checking the fuses, fuel filter, air cleaner, and rollover fuel pump reset switch, and verifying spark at the plugs and fuel at the rail.
