2001 Ford Mustang 6 cyl Automatic 40000 miles

I have a problem with my ponny, it doesn't have the catalyc converter, and the mechanic told me that it just has a pipe, there's no oxygen sensors eather, and that I need to buy the original part from the ford dealer, and on my board the serve engine soon is always on, the car is spending way lots of gasoline and it sometimes feels shaky. I've been cheking in some ford mustangs forums and they recomended diffrent catalyc converters, I don't know what to purchase. I will like you to recomend me what to do or buy exacly for my car.

Hi there,

the reason that your car is so thirsty is that the ECU is over compensation for no O2 inputs I would be fitting the genuine or OME equivalent converter, don't try cheap so called sports hi flow units, get the correct O2 sensor and make sure that the wiring is ok as well.
