My brake shift interlock is not functioning?

My brake shift interlock is not functioning. The brake lights work and I tried replacing the brake light switch that is actuated by the brake pedal. The only way I can shift out of park is to insert a popsicle stick into the manual interlock access hole. Is there an electronic interlock relay or fuse that needs replaced, or is it the interlock switch on the floor shifter? I checked all of the fuses in the passenger compartment fuse panel (all looked good).

Hello,

It sounds like you have a faulty shift interlock actuator.
When you press the brake pedal the actuator is what releases the lever in order for you to shift it.
That actuator is located under the shift lever. You will have to remove the trims around the shifter to access it.

I have attached the replacement procedure of the interlock actuator.
