2003 F250SD auto trans 4x4 85,000 kilometres
I really hope someone can help me because I am becoming really frustrated with the dealers. And the tranny shops.
When I bought the truck at 65,000 km I was noticing the torque converter was coming in and out of lockup when I accelerate or de-celerate like it should up until 4 months ago (75000kms) It wants to lockup prematurely and won't come out of lockup when I accelerate at highway speeds resulting in a big loss of power. It won't even come out of lockup when I am cruising and I tap the brake pedal.
I am finding now that when I want to accelerate I have to release the gas pedal and go back to the 2/3 throttle position and the t.C will unlock only locking up prematurely again.
I have had 2 Ford dealers plug their diagnostic laptop tool and come up with no codes. These mechanics understand what I am talking about but can't find a solution because they have never heard of such a problem. (I think they're just brushing me off so that I can go away paying their 90.00 diagnostic fee)
Now I know that the torque converter itself actually works because I have seen it on their diagnostic tool.
It just needs to be told what to do. Oh and one mechanic actually replaced the TPS thinking that it was the problem but he was wrong. He is also a friend therefore I give him an E for effort.
Can someone please help me as I will start pulling a 28 foot camping trailer this summer. Oh and did I mention that I made a donation? LOL.
Please please please help me. I know I am not dreaming this up!
