1995 Ford F250 will fire from coil but from cap it won't

what is wrong when you don't get fire from the cap but you do from the coil

If its coming out of the coil not at the sparkplug thoroughly inspect the cap and rotor or just replace both-also the rotor might not be spinning due to a sheared drive gear or the component that drives the distributor
