1994 Ford F-150 Temp Gauge Stays Cold

I recently made a 300 mile trip and my temp guage never left cold nor the engine overheat. I replaced the temperature switch, but the guage still barely clears the cold mark. What else can I check?

Sorry, I forgot the year and mileage....1994 and has 125,000 miles.

the problem is either the thermostat, or the gauge itself. i would change the thermostat first, it's alot cheaper than the gauge.
