My instrument cluster has an outside digital temp. Readout on it that has been reading 118-120 degree's, when I contacted my dealer they said I have to replace the whole cluster? I'm wondering where the sensor is for the outside readout, and that maybe it is faulty or that it has been shifted out of place causing this inaccurate reading. Can someone please give some insight

To enter the instrument cluster self-diagnostic mode with the ignition key in the OFF position, press and hold the odometer reset button (except message center cluster) or simultaneously press and hold the message center RESET and SETUP buttons (message center cluster).

Turn the key to the RUN position and hold until the display indicates TEST, usually within 3 to 5 seconds. Press the RESET button once to advance through each stage of the self-test.

To exit the instrument cluster self-test mode, turn the ignition to the OFF position. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved,

This should tell you if its the cluster or sensor.
