2001 Ford F-150 low engine temp

01f150, 5.4 engine. The engine temp wont go over 145 at idel. If I take the rpms up 2 2000 temp will rise to 180-190.I changed the thermostat, didnt help. It set a code for low coolant temp.

If the truck is idling and its cold now as its winter dont be surprised the truck doesnt heat up, everything sounds like it is working properly.
