Hello, I have just replaced the 4.6 in my truck with a ford reman and can not get it to start. I am getting fuel and I show no codes other than drive cycle incomplete. It is not getting fire at the coils I have checked and rechecked all connections and fuses alsocrank and cam sensor are showing about 45 ohlms. I would be thankful for any ideas or directions as to which way to procede. Thanks

No spark would be the crank sensor, harmonic balance OK? Check the wire that plugs onto the crank sensor, it may not be on tight enough. What does the security light on the dash do? With key out, it should blink once ever two to three seconds, key ON it will go on steady for a few seconds then go out. Truck will start. Also check the PCM fuse in the under hood relay panel.
On models with electric Secondary Air Injection (AIR) system, perform the following procedure after the no-start condition has been repaired:
à  Â

Symptom Checks
à  Â
à  Â
à  Â
à  Â
Disconnect AIR solid state relay. Start and run engine until surplus fuel is used, and then reconnect relay. Disconnecting AIR solid state relay may set a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). After repairs are completed, clear DTCs. See CLEARING CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - EEC-V (GASOLINE) article.

Preliminary Checks
Check the following items:

Check Inertia Fuel Shutoff (IFS) switch. Check fuel pressure and quality (octane, winter/summer grade fuel, methanol, etc.). Check add-on alarm/anti-theft devices. Check wiring harness connectors. Check for disconnected or restricted air intake duct. Check fuses and relays.
Check ignition and fuel system. On LS models, see TEST KB, step 85) under SYSTEM TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - EEC-V (GASOLINE) article. On all other models, see TEST A under SYSTEM TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - EEC-V (GASOLINE) article. Check if engine will start and run at part throttle. If engine starts and runs, Idle Air Control (IAC) system may be defective. See TEST KE, step 2) under SYSTEM TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - EEC-V (GASOLINE) article. Check for restricted exhaust system. See TEST HF under SYSTEM TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - EEC-V (GASOLINE) article. Check engine mechanical condition. Check compression, camshaft, valve train components, etc. See appropriate article in ENGINES. If no problems are indicated, return to SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS to identify any additional symptoms or see TEST Z under SYSTEM TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - EEC-V (GASOLINE) article and check for intermittent faults.

Theft light is flashing every couple seconds with key out and goes off after a few seconds after turning key on, checked a rechecked crank sensoe connections and replaced crank sensor. Checked all fuses and other connections im getting about 40 lb fuel pressure, also still getting no codes except drive cycle incomlete. Injectors are not firing tested them with noid lights and coils dont fire either volt meter shows same votage grounded to engine or negative post so I think its geting proper ground I havent got a clue where to look from here

Check PCM fuse, fuse links at battery, that connect to the solenoid. Check IGN fuse, these are in the under hood fuse box.

Test ignition switch, injectors wont fire if the switch signal isnt present, this can be true even if the lights work. If you can get it scanned with a tool that reads "B" codes, or try this with the dash board, it's called the Dealer test mode:
HYBRID ELECTRONIC CLUSTER (HEC) SELF-DIAGNOSTICS
NOTE: Turning ignition switch to OFF position will cause HEC to exit selfdiagnostics.
NOTE: Instrument cluster is a Hybrid Electronic Cluster (HEC). HEC has selfdiagnostic
system which may store a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) if
a problem exists in the system. HEC DTCs may be displayed on the
instrument cluster.
Turn ignition switch to OFF position. To enter HEC self-diagnostics, press and hold instrument
cluster SELECT/RESET button. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Within 5-8 seconds, odometer
will display "tESt" to begin self-diagnostic mode. SELECT/RESET button MUST be released within
3 seconds of odometer displaying "tESt". Repeatedly press SELECT/RESET button through odometer
displays until "dtc" is displayed. When odometer displays "dtc", press SELECT/RESET button again
and any continuous DTCs will be displayed before odometer advances to next display. For other HEC
diagnostic modes, see HYBRID ELECTRONIC CLUSTER (HEC) SELF-DIAGNOSTIC
MODES.
If DTC is retrieved, see HYBRID ELECTRONIC CLUSTER (HEC) DTC TEST INDEX table. If
no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, repair by symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEX table
under SYSTEM TESTS. For DTCs not covered in this article, see MODULE
COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - F150 LIGHT-DUTY PICKUPS article. Turn ignition
switch to OFF position or press and hold SELECT/RESET button for 3 or more seconds, release to
exit HEC dealer test mode.

HYBRID ELECTRONIC CLUSTER (HEC) DEALER TEST MODES
NOTE: Values displayed are instrument cluster input values, not gauge values.
"GAGE"
Activates sweep of all gauges, then displays present gauge values. Does ROM and EE checksum tests.
If gauge sweep is inoperative, replace instrument cluster.
All Segments Illuminated
Illuminates all odometer segments. If any odometer segment is inoperative, replace instrument cluster.
"bulb"
Illuminates all micro-controlled lamps and LEDs. Replace bulb or LED as necessary.
"r"
Returns to normal operation all micro-controlled lamps and LEDs and displays hexadecimal values
for ROM. This is used when requesting assistance from Ford hotline. If alternating flashes of FAIL
and ROM level are displayed, replace instrument cluster.
"EE"
Hexadecimal value for EE level. This is used when requesting assistance from Ford hotline. If
alternating flashes of FAIL and EE level are displayed, replace instrument cluster.
"dt"
Displays hexadecimal coding of final manufacturing test date. This is used when requesting assistance
from Ford hotline.
"dtc"
Displays continuous DTCs in 16-bit hexadecimal. Pressing SELECT/RESET button will display any
DTCs stored before proceeding to next step.
"enG"
Displays English value speed input to instrument cluster. Speedometer will indicate present vehicle
speed. Display will indicate zero if input is not received, if input is invalid for more than one second
or if actual vehicle speed is zero.
"m"

I'm Still going with the crank sensor, or pigtail that plugs into it, do you have access to a scantool? Even a generic one that reads live sensor data, and most do, will work, crank engine and see if the scantool see the sensor, and if values change when cranked. Also check cam sensor, most fords will run even with a cam sensor unplugged. I am sending you the official NO Start Guide, check email.
