1994 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150k+ miles

Hey there. I have a 94 f150 and its been a good run around truck for dump runs and such but in turning 17 and getting my license and the truck isn't in too good running shape. It seems to knock a good bit while idling and while driving. My uncle and dad seem to think that its a stuck valve. Could this be it and if it is where can I start the repairs? Thanks!

Hi:
Usually a valve will make more of a ticking sound and not a knock. A knock usually indicates a rod or main bearing. Is the truck still running good or does it have a constant miss?
