Okay, ive been working on this one for a while. This started when my distributor rotor broke while I was driving. I put a new cap, rotor, distributor (reman), plugs, wires, coil (aftermarket) and TFI (fender mounted, aftermarket) in the vehicle. After that I began to have this intermittent issue where I would drive and it would be fine. I would turn the vehicle off though and it would randomly not restart. After about 6 hrs. To a couple days it will start again. Later on I put a new motor and transmission in it as well as a starter, alternator and battery. This problem carried over with that. I made sure it wasn't fuel. Checked at 51 p.S.I. With ignition on, engine off. Then I put another new distributor cap and rotor in it (aftermarket). Still haven the issue. Then replaced both the fuel pump relay and eec relay. Then decided mabye the after market is junk, installed new Ford: coil and TFI. Then I put a new PCM in the truck. Also replaced Ign switch (Ford part) and the Ign switch armature acuator (Ford part). Im not throwing any codes related to this issue. Then began to run electrical diag. When it will not start im not getting a pulse (checked with noid tester) at injectors. Tried a coil test: getting a small spark. Has 11.4 V at coil. Ground may be weak that pulses the coil? Made sure the fender mount for the TFI is a good solid ground. Then checked large connector (fender mounted) and replaced TFI 6 pin connector. Today going to get a new (actually new aftermarket) distributor. Only thing I can think is maybe I am getting faulty stators in remaned distibutors. TP sensor has proper voltage to it. Im not sure if the IAC can effect this but i'll glady change it if it will. Sorry for the small life story but I get tired of people telling me to change the TFI. Any ideas?

2.9, 3.0, or 4.0? You might also want to check the ignition switch.

You tried the new distributor yet? You could try running a fused wire off the (+) batt terminal, to the (+) side of the coil and see if it starts, then you would need to trace the coil supply wires.
