Recently changed alternator now the battery light comes on & guage is full while driving goes back down during idle

Ok if I understand right the battery light is on but what do mean the guage is full? Please explain and we will take it from there.

The guage inside next to speedometer it has a battery on it reads normal while at idle as soon as I push the gas it goes up to full

Ok so the volt guage pegs out? Have you check with a multi meter at the battery to see what voltage you are actually getting? Let me know what you find.
