I have a 1994 Ford Explorer 2d Eddie Bauer Edition, 4.0 v6. Recently the battery light has been coming on in my car. So I replaced the battery and the light still came on. I had the car tested and the said the alternator went bad. So I bought a new alternator and I am still having the battery light on and my battery is draining completely when I drive it. I don't know what else to do. Any thought.

I'm not familiar with trucks, is the regulator integral to the alternator? How about the plugs for the connections, are they in good shape, some alts come with new pieces. Ford was having a problem with fires associated with some of the plugs, this was quite a few years ago, I bought aftermarket alts, they all came with new plugs to splice into the wiring. Make sure your plugs are nice and tight to the alt

I would probably check the ground cable from the battery to the engine ground. These tend to corrode a lot, and sometimes inside the plastic covering making it hard to see.
You also have 2 fusable links between the altenator and the starter relay, but I am doubting that would be the problem.
I have seen new altenators not work properly, so maybe it is still the problem.
