Do you have to raise the engine to change the oil pan gasket in 98 explorer w/5.0 engine>

if it is a rubber gasket you can slip it around the outside of the oil pan with out too much problem. the pan set usualy has some guide pins that go in the corners next to where the u part is. once you slip the gasket over the outside edge you can place the gasket and put the pins in to help hold it all till you get it in place. just take your time and don't loose you cool and it will work. 8) NOS
