Interior problem
2000 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 147k miles

We installed a front driver's side window regulator on my 2000 Ford Explorer a few months ago, but it started rattling inside the door and eventually got worse and wouldn't move at all. We need a diagram of how to install the window regulator because we think we must have done something wrong the first time and want to make sure we have it installed right this time. My husband thinks that the bolts are not in the right places maybe? We just need a picture really of how it's supposed to look. Thank you for your help.

Well, I'm certainly glad I did NOT make a donation to your website when I submitted my question. I appreciate your effort in answering my question, but A)I was talking about a window REGULATOR and your answer pertains to a motor, B) I clearly stated that we had already installed the part and that it functioned, so I did not need installation instructions, and C) I stated that I need a DIAGRAM or PICTURE of the finished product, so that we could make sure we had installed it properly. Your instructions stating "drill out rivets. Drill rivets back in in the order you took them out" do not help me since I have already installed the part. I really wanted to know why the regulator was rattling inside the door panel after we replaced it and I could only think that we had done something wrong. So that's why I asked for the diagram or picture. WHEW! I'm glad I didn't waste my money on your advice.

The motor and regulator is an assembly, it's all together.I'm not a magician I can only work with what I got and unfortunately I do NOT have a diagram or picture of this specific repair. It is most likely rattling because you did install it incorrectly, therefore you do indeed need the PROPER replacement steps so you can remove and reinstall it the correct way this time.

I see your point. I think you're right that we did not install it correctly. Your instructions say "drill out 3 rivets holding regulator/motor assembly. To install, reverse procedure." This would work well if I had not already installed the part. When it says "reverse the procedure" the author is assuming that you wrote down and/or remember where the rivets were when you started. Since I did not write down where they were and I don't remember, I had to put them where I thought they went when I installed the part. I obviously put something in the wrong place. It's nice of you to reply to my question, but it's also borderline insulting because these directions don't address my specific issue. I wondered if you didn't read my questions all the way or if I was unclear at first. I would rather you have put, "I don't have a diagram and don't know where you can find one, " (or not answering at all) instead of giving me information that doesn't help.

P.S. I know you're not a magician! And if your original response was borderline insulting, that comment was definitely over the line.
