I WAS DOIN A TUNE-UP AND RAN INTO THE PROBLEM OF NOT REACHING THE LAST 2 SPARK PLUGS ON THE PASS-SIDE. SO I FIGURED I COULD JACK IT UP AND REMOVE THE TIRE AND GET TO THE LAST 2 PLUGS WITH WORKED. THE TRUCK STARTED FINE. LATER ON TRIED TO START IT AGAIN AND IT FAILED TO START. BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED AND USED ANOTHER CAR FOR EXTRA POWER AND IT STILL WONT START. I CHANGED ALL 6 PLUGS AND WIRES ALSO BRAND NEW AIR-FILTER. ENGINE CRANKS BUT WONT START.U CAN SMELL THE FUEL.I CHECKED THE EMERG FUEL SHUT=OFF AND I PUSHED IT DOWN AND ALSO PULLED IT UP AND NEITHER GOT IT STARTED.I CYCLED THE KEY TO THE ON AND OFF POSITION AND I CAN HEAR THE FULE PUMP RUNNING. I CHECKED THE FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE VALVE AND IT WAS A TINY SQIRYT OF FULE THAT CAM OUT. SO IM THINKING THERE IS A BLOCKAGE BETWEEN THE FUEL PUMP AND THE FUEL-RAILS SOME WHERE. MAYBE I SHOULD TRY AND CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER. PLEASE HELP !

Before you do that, have you checked to make sure you are getting spark to the plugs. The fact that you said you smell gas makes me believe you are getting it to the motor. If there isn't spark, make sure the coil wire is still attached. If there is spark, then check fuel pump pressure at the rail and again before the fuel filter if the rail is too low. That way you'll know if the filter is plugged.

If you need directions or have other questions.

I CHECKED THE FUEL PRESSURE AND IT WAS VERY LOW. SO I REMOVED ONE HOSE OFF THE FUEL FILTER AND CYCLED THE FUEL PIMP AND IT BARELY SQUIRTED. SO THEN I REPLACED THE FILTER AND THE PRESSURE IS BACK TO NORM. BUT TRUCK STILL FAILS TO START. IMMA CHECK THE COIL AND ALL WIRES FOR SPARKS LATER TODAY.
