1997 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 201xxx miles

I just had a problem with the mass air flow sensor on my explorer. We havent had this truck very long & the mass air flow sensor went bad. Well we really just wanted to find one of another explorer out of a junk yard or something but we cant seem to find one that fits right. Its like they wont plug in the same. So I was just wondering what years of explorers mass air flow sensors would work?

IMHO, Don't get one out of the scrap yard. The scrap yard should be able to tell you if it is correct or not should you go down that path.

Are you getting lean codes?

They can be cleaned sometimes with electronic cleaner.
