We have put in a new engine and cannot start it with the key, we can start it by connecting directly to the battery, and everything work except the blower motor on the heater, the rear fan works for the blower. Fuel pump kicks on, everything powers up and you can drive it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

We use a remote starter switch connected from the battery positive terminal to the starter solenoid upper terminal. With the key in the run position motor will crank and start and run fine, remove remote starter switch and try to start with key, no crank. Have disconnected ignition switch teminal to check for continuity between terminals, also I have tried to jumper wiring harness from ignition switch terminal to get engine to crank, with no luck. I have taken fender solenoid to local parts store for checking, they say it is fine. Reinstalled still not able to start with key.1997 ford explorer 4.0 V6 SOHC

Yes the neutral switch is plugged in, we're not sure if it's the ignition or something in the ignition switch relay. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
