I just got the fuel pump and filter replaced because the car would not start. The shop said they needed to drain the fuel tank to do it. The tank was 3/4 full.

They charge me 841 dollars. Can someone tell me if this is a fair price.

I checked the price and find that your can range from 43.00 to 380.00 dollars depending on the maker, but 841.00 is a bit high...

Its about 2 hours labor plus parts
ask them how much they charge in an hour
I think you were over charged but I can not be 100 % sure
if its a straight job as remove and replace fuel pump

its for sure to much $$$$$$$$$$

Thanks guys,

They told me they put the Ford fuel pump in it. This cost 483 dollars. They also help me check the engine light for some issues as it was on. They drove it around to evaluate it and run the computer check for messages but did not do any more.

No offense but next time check around for pricing because they charged you way to much even with the scan. For a pump u dont need to spend over 140 bucks. And its very simple to install to. Shops r wolfs and they will rip u off if u know nothing about cars. Specially dealers. Learn a bit about cars so u can repair it yourself its the best way to go unless you have money to give away to wolves in the shops. Good luck next time. And sorry I dont mean to offend I just hate shops and dealers lolo cause they r evil lol not kidding bro. Take care

Sounds a bit harsh, yes there are plenty of crooks, but there are some good ones, 483 for a fuel pump even a Ford is excessive.
