When I turn the key off the fan motor stays on blowing, but thinking it is the ignition switch. Nothing else stays on. The windows do not work or any other accessory for the vehicle but the fan blower motor for the heat. Any ideas?

The power to the blower motor starts at the ignition switch. If it is off, no power should make it to the switch, relay, resister, and to the motor. I would have the ignition switch checked. Chances are something has shorted in it.

Nothing else in the vehicle works but the blower motor. So I checked the relay switch was in a heck of a spot under the dash and put in a new relay but that was fine and the resister just under the passenger side of the dash is good. So I am lost for now. I have it cut off and ran to the fuse box but I still cannot figure this one out without ripping the whole thing apart.

I was wondering if my alternator had a bad diode or diodes it could be draining my battery if the car is off? I also noticed that the blower for the heater also stays on after I take the keys out. Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, I just replaced the battery three days ago and the drainage is still happening.

If the fan continues to run, that is what is draining the battery. Chances are the ignition switch is bad. Try this. Remove the fuse for the fan over night and see if the battery is okay in the morning.

Let me know what you find.
