Power loss Any Ideas

I have a ford escort 1.6 16v zetec that starts and runs fine untill the rpm, s get to 3000 or so and then it loses power as if there is no fuel even though there is plenty of fuel available. Need some help on this one as im stumped.

Does the problem clear up if you get above 3000 RPM. If it does you probably have a dead spot on the throttle position sensor.
