We took our 1995 Ford Escort on a 1200 mile trip, the following day upon our return home I took the car to the library (2 miles). The car began to smell and smoke was coming from under the hood. I pulled over, called my husband. The thermostat did not go up, so I didn't think it was the coolant. Since we lived just up the road my husband started the car again, the engine ran fine, so he headed home (1 mile) A few hundred feet from our house the car began to smoke again and wouldn't go up a small incline. We pushed it home. We added coolant and transmission fluid. The following day we tryed to start it and it wouldn't go into gear. You can move the shift handle but the transmission does not move into any gear. We also found a leak under the car after if sat for awhile. Is the transmission blown?
