Hello Everyone,

My ford escort has 200 000 km, and has a 1.8L engine. About 2 weeks ago the steering wheel started to vibrate. At first, you could only notice it when you were doing around 50km/hour. It has gotten far worse in the past few days. If I'm trying to drive in a straight line, the steering wheel won't stop vibrating. If I steer slightly to the left or right the vibration almost entirely goes away. Any clue what this might be?

I'm a car noob, but I've decideded to attempt to fix this problem myself. I was planning on replacing both outer Tie Rods tonight, then having the wheels alligned. Any chance this might be the problem? And, if it is... any tips on changing the tie rods?

Thanks in Advance!
