Car will not start, fuel pump runs. Could it be coil or cap and rotor? How do I diagnose?

If you have no spark then you trace back to the coil and check for voltage going to it and coming out, if voltage is going to it and none is coming out replace the coil.

If voltage is going to the distributor but not leaving change the cap and rotor and also check to see if the rotor turns when being cranked.

If you have spark then it is all good and you should check for injector pulse and fuel pressure.
