The other day I went to start the car. The starter motor turned over and almost sounded like it had either decided to slip a little or like I had left the key in the start position too long. The car did start, but it ran very rough. I smelled a very strong fuel odor like unburnt fuel. I have recently had the timing belt replaced by the ford dealer, I also did plugs and wires. This problem is intermittent and I have checked all of the plugs and wires. I own a code scanner and have checked for codes, and none were present. Is one of my fuel injectors going bad?

Fuel odor has something to do your EVAP system consisting of the EVAP canister, the solenoid valve, vacuum hoses and electrical connections. Make sure that your canister is intact, not cracked, vacuum hoses are all connected, and that the solenoid is working properly.

Car dropped a valve. It was loose, then dropped it on the number four cyl. Found that out the hard way. Paid 6 grand for the car and 6 months later sold it for 600 cause I couldnt afford a new motor.
