I have a 94 escort and I did a tune up on the car last summer, after I did the tune up I started the car up and it ran fine, I then shut it down and tried to restart and it didnt. Now the car has been sitting since that time and has not ran, I tried to start it within the last couple of days it would try to turn over but it would not start. So I removed the starter and I notice that I can turn the flywheel with my fingers but the crank or balancer is not turning when I turn the flywheel. I know that I should not be able to turn the flywheel with my fingers while its still bolted to the engine. I had a trans put in it last summer before I did the tune up and I'm thinking that maybe the bolts that bolt the flywheel to the back of the crank either broke or where not tighten down correctly. Do you have any solutions to what may be the issue to why the flywheel is able to be turned by hand while still connected to the engine.
