Will not start until you add gas

We just replaced the fuel pump and then after we did that it runs for eighty five miles and the car shuts down and does not ever turn back on and less you add fuel until the gas tank is full and then it will start. I need help to figure out this problem. It will not start until you add gas.

Scan for codes, then check evaporator canister/purge valve it will be red on frame if under hood. Then get back to us if any codes.

This is applicable even if your check engine light is not on.

Most scanners are inexpensive to purchase, you can purchase one online from sites like Amazon.com
