Tires and Wheels problem
1993 Ford Aerostar 6cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 200000 miles

What would be the approximate total repair price for replacing the bearing and seals (rear passenger side) for 1993 Ford Areostar, large 4.0 ltr. It has showing 200000+ miles (Motor replaced), so mileage not accurate. Passenger side rear wheel bearing replacement?

Thanks. John

The cost of parts will be around 100.00 plus 2.5 hours labor.

Keep in mind, with that many miles, you may need to replace the axle due to wear.

Let me know if you have other questions.

OK. With the following:
BEARING AND SEALS (right rear)
GREASE SEAL =12.99
AZ R AXLE RPR BRG ASSY = 87.60
LABOR =138.00
SUBTOTAL =238.59
AND

DIFFERENTIAL SERVICE - NON SYNTHETIC 75W-90
LIMITED 100 LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENT FLUID =14.99
WASTE OILS DISPOSAL FEE = 2.00
GGN 90 NON SYNTHETIC 75W-90 GEAR GLIDE =19.99
DIFFERENTIAL SERVICE LABOR =50.00

SUBTOTAL = 86.98

TOTAL =325.57
This then, seems to be inline with an average price schedule?

Thanks for your time.

John:
That does seem really close. I wouldn't say they are taking advantage of you. Keep in mind, to replace a rear axle bearing, you need to remove the axle which takes time. To do it, the differential has to come apart, rear brakes.

Let me know if you have other questions.
