Hi,
The idea that it doesn't stall when in motion and the transmission in neutral leads me to think either there could be an engine vacuum leak or an issue with the idle air control valve (IAC).
The IAC is responsible for maintaining engine idle speed. When they begin to fail, oftentimes it can lead to a stalling issue.
In this case, first, check to see if there are any engine vacuum leaks. Here is a link that explains how it is done:

If none are found, then we should consider servicing the throttle body and IAC. Here are two links you may find helpful to perform this:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/throttle-actuator-service
If you look at pic 1 below, it shows the location for the IAC. It will be on the throttle body. Make sure the connection is in good condition, tight, and free of corrosion.
On the other hand, if the vehicle won't start for a while after stalling, which is likely something different, so let me know if that is the case.
Now, the idea you can't communicate with the computer is something that is likely unrelated. However, anything is possible. In the connector (DLC), check pin 16 for power. It should have 12v at all times. Also, check for continuity to ground on pins 4 and 5. Here is a link that you may find helpful.

See pic 2 for DLC pin identification.
Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.
Take care,
Joe
