Engine rebuild

Got the engine put back in last weekend! Just trying to finish installing the final few things. Regarding the starter, I have a model that has 3 bolt terminals, as shown in the picture. I hooked up my wiring harness to it like this: main red wire to big main terminal, purple to small terminal on right side; nothing on the left terminal. Is that correct? As for the battery cables, should I put the red positive on the big main terminal, and the black negative cable to the small left terminal?

The battery cable end from the positive side goes on the upper big lug.

The purple goes to the small terminal on the right.

That is it.

The ground for the negative cable goes to the block.

So, leave the wiring harness cables as I have them, and just attach the red positive cable as well?

No.

One cable to the upper stud. That is from the battery.

Purple wire to the inner terminal.

No other cables to the starter.

Respectfully, I don't think that's right. The diagram you sent me a few posts ago shows some spliced red lines going to the starter as well. It looks to me like the red spliced wires from the harness, and the red positive battery cable go on the same starter lug/terminal. Then the purple is alone by itself. Is that correct?

I need to replace the radiator support bushings, but the stock ones I have don’t fit snugly over the top of my new radiator, there’s about an inch gap of extra space. Is that okay? Or is there a way to fix that? I’m worried about the radiator just moving around inside the bushings and not being very secure.

Roy, can you help me decipher the emissions diagram? I'm not sure of some of the abbreviations:

EFE
TVS
SPARK TVS
EFE-TVS
TRC SOLENOID CONT VALVE
SEC VAC BRK ACT

Okay,

EFE is the valve on the exhaust manifold between the manifold and the head pipe. It stays closed when cold sending warm air through the intake for better atomization of fuel.

TVS is a temperature vacuum switch for the EGR if it was equipped with it.

Spark TVS This is a delay for the vacuum advance. When the engine is cold the timing will not be fully advanced.

Both of those switches are in the intake manifold in water passages.

EFE is controlled by a thermal vacuum switch as well.

The other 2 are not for your application.

PCV valve openings. I have 2 of them, one on each valve cover. I have a PCV valve in one, but the other is currently open; should I put a breather in there, or what would that be for?

Yes, the other is just a breather line from the valve cover to the intake.
