I had to take my civic in for a bad oil leak and it had started to studded and lose power. I stopped at the store. I had a hard time starting it when I came out. I finally got it started and pressed the gas and it died. Tried several times. It seem to run OK if I didn't push the gas, but I had it towed to repair shop. They replaced solednoid in for bad oil leak. They also replaced distributive ( not only cap but all) and intiation. In shop for week, the second time I drive it I notice it still not right power wise, progressively gets worse. Now the engine is running rough the engine light is blinking and rpm drops a lot when idling. I drove it home(less than two miles). When I got it home smoke came from engine. I notice a burnt smell. I tried to recreate the smoke when I got home, but it didnt do it again still burnt smell. I already put $1700 for the first repair. I don't want to drive it and will get towed. Any advice?

When the engine light blinks ti typically means that you have a multiple cylinder misfire. You can go to the parts store to have them check the codes for free. It may be that your timing belt has jumped time and is running rough.

Thanks for the reply, I think the mechanics did something when it was in the first time, because they didn't charge me for repair and tow. They really didn't explain what was wrong. But thanks for answering me.
