Engine is running rough like its missing

I have a 1994 le sabre that I just recently got and it just started to run really weird I was driving up a canyon and went to pass and as I accelerated it started to jerk really hard as if the tranmission was slipping or the engine was missing. I took it to my machanic and he plugged it in and could not figure out what was causing the problem. Can anyone give me some ideas of what this might be? THANK YOU

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure 41-47 psi

Check the spark strength and plugs. These cars require a strong spark. If the plugs are something other than AC/Delco plugs, replace them.
