Blower not coming on. Also, the power window and locks are not working. And rear defrost. No heat or A/C controls.

Hi,

I went through the wiring schematics which resulted in questions. LOL Can you tell me the production date of the vehicle? There was a midyear change that affected the schematic layout.

Also, I need to know if this happened all at once or if you lost power at different times.

Let me know as much as you can. Also, you should be able to find the production date either under the hood or on the driver's door or door jamb.

Let me know.

Joe

Car was purchased without A/C. Power windows and lock would work after about 30-60 min of drive time. Heat worked with blower. Also taillights and dash lights would work like the locks and window. Heater quit working about a month ago with no blower. Can feel some heat when blower quit everything failed to work after drive time stayed above. Pic sent of relays jumped and location.

Hi,

I looked at the pics. The first one doesn't identify the build date. Check to see if you can find it on the door or door frame. It should indicate a month and year. They start making the new model year in late August the prior year. So, this may have been built between Aug of 2003 to approximately July of 2004.

I'm sorry to drive you crazy with this, but looking at the wiring schematics, they are different.

Also, regarding the last pic of where the relay goes, it's hard to tell, but are the connectors black? Did you install the jumper wire between pin 30 and 87, and is that the blower relay?

Let me know.

Yes, I installed the jumper. It’s on the RR/HTR Rear defrost comes on. Also put jumper on relay for power windows and on third relay for interior dash lights and taillights. Should have seen 4 pic. Second pic showed 5/04 manufactured date.

Hi,

I attached the wiring schematic below for the HVAC system. Here is what I need you to check.

Since you can get the blower motor to run if you jump the relay, that tells me the blower fuse, wiring to the blower motor, and the blower motor is good. So, something is preventing the relay from closing the circuit.

I realize the relay worked when it was jumped. However, I need you to confirm the relay is good. If there is a different relay with the same part number, switch them and see if it makes a difference. If there isn't one, here is a link that explains how to test one:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-an-electrical-relay-and-wiring-control-circuit

If that checks good, then I need you to remove the relay and confirm there is power to two of the pins with the key on. If that is good, we need to confirm there is a ground path to the black wire (ground) when the blower is requested on.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe

Hey,

Never stated I got the blower to work. I said I jumped relay for power windows and power locks. And also jumped relay for dash lights and taillights. Both work if jumped if I switch relays it doesn’t help. Blower never comes on. There is a third relay I jumped for htr/RR which bring on my rear defrost on window. If I don't unplug all three relays after turning the ignition to off position real defrost stays on and taillights front marker lights and rear defrost. Which drains battery. None of my fuses are blown. That goes for under hood and interior panel. Couldn't fathom all my switch’s breaking. On the relays I'm jumping is the jumper wire switching ground wire or positive. It seems like maybe I’m losing ground wire the goes to controls. Previously stated before I jumped relays it would taken30-60 minutes of drive time for controls to work. But recently at this time they never work unless I jumper the relays.

Hi,

Okay, I misunderstood. If you are able to jump any relay and the component works, the same procedure needs to be done as what I mentioned above.

Have you tried checking for power and ground on the primary side of the relays?
