My number 7 fuse blew yesterday, then today after work I had my car scanned for engine light and they had a hard time getting their scan tool to work, had to start the car for it to work. Found out I had a bad o2 sensor. When I left and I started my car the fuse blew again. When I got home and tried to replace it, it would blow instantly when you hit the key. Ended up putting six total in it all the way up to 40 amp and still popped instantly. It controls heater overdrive dash cluster for speedometer and fuel all that. I don't know where to begin to figure it out. Would appreciate any help or advice.

Good afternoon,

Which fuse box? there is one under the hood and one in the car.

I also see not fuse 7 in my diagrams.

if you installed larger amp fuses and they continued to blow you may have additional wiring harness damage by overheating a harness not rated for 40 amps.

Okay, I found the fuse marked number 7.

A lot on this fuse. What you need to do is disconnect all the components on this fuse and then see if it still blows,

if it does then its wiring issue.

If it does not, then plug one component at a time until the fuse blows. Then you have it narrowed down to that component.

I would remove the column shroud and inspect the wires coming out of the shift lever for chafing. Common issue.
