My truck has an electrical issue. I was going to repair the overhead console when I rolled down the driver's front window. When I went to roll it back up it wouldn't go up. I tried the passenger side window from the switch on the driver side. It wouldn't go down. So, I went to the passenger side switch and tried it. It still didn't go down. I pulled the panel off to check the switch and wiring. The guy I bought the truck from cut the wires. I didn't see any that came loose or anything. I checked the fuses and relay. Everything else works. I think it's awfully odd for two switches or two window motors to go out at the same time. I checked the wires for power and ground. It's not getting neither power nor ground. Unless I'm not doing something right. I've watched YouTube videos and I did exactly what they said to do. There is no video dealing with this specific problem. What do you think is the problem? The signal lights work, the wipers work, interior lights work, dash lights work, everything else is fine. The previous owner cut the wires to change the plug I'm guessing. The wires are twisted together instead of done right. Thanks ahead of time. Fuses and relays are good. But no power is getting to the switch. I haven't had any problems with this truck since I purchased it about 3 months ago until now.

Hello David,

I would first repair any wiring that is needed and then check the fuse #106 and #103 in the main junction box under the hood.

This guide can help:

Test the fuses with the key on, and I have included the window wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works and the fuse location as well in the images below please let me know how it goes.

I hooked up the wires and checked fuses as shown in the video. Unless I am doing something wrong, the windows are still not working. I never had a problem with the windows until now. Do you know if the wires are color coded? I can't really tell because of the wires are all dirty I cleaned them as best as I could but still all dirty. Where do I go up to if I was to just change the whole wire out? Like go to our local pull a part to get the wire. I mean where in the door does the wires start and stop?

Please check for power at the switch, the wire color is light blue/black, here is a guide to help check for power. Be sure you have a good ground on the test light:

Please let me know, you may have a bad GEM module.

I checked for power at the wire you said, still nothing. I rolled the window down to do something else and now it won't go up. Fuses have no power either. I grounded a test light to the battery to test fuses. I believe the relay is bad. Which relay is it for the windows?

I checked all wires for power with the test light grounded to a good ground. No power supply is getting to the switch. I checked the fuses and all fuses inside the truck are all good. Some on the inside of the truck had no power getting to them, so I manually pulled them one by one to check them. They are all good. No wire(s) at the switch are getting power but does have ground.

The window relays are in the center junction box on the driver side. Here are the locations. I have included the location for the GEM as well.

I see you have included relays, but which relay is it? It's not labeled with windows.
