My driver's side door will not open from the inside or outside. First it was the inside and then a few weeks later the outside stopped working as well. Mechanic said the clips broke. Not sure what parts I need to try and get this issue fixed.

Hello,

This is likely a broken component inside the handle, which connects it to the door latch.
In order to find exactly what is broken, you will have to remove the inside door panel to have access.
There is a clip that attaches the door handle to a rod, which connects to the door latch, which is what typically brakes. And the result will be a non-functioning door handle.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
