The driver side door lock will not work with the key fob or door lock switch. There is one lock/unlock switch on the driver door that locks/unlocks all the doors on the car. The key fob and switch does lock/unlock the other three doors perfectly. I replaced the driver door lock actuator with a new unit, and it still does not work electronically. I tested the pins with a 9-volt battery on the door lock actuator and I can see the little motor move. Is there a fuse or a relay that controls this driver door lock directly?

Hi,

I tried looking at the wiring schematics, which I will be happy to share with you. However, I hit a roadblock. I need to know if the vehicle has an intelligent key or not. Basically, do you have an ignition key or a push-button start.

Let me know.

Joe

This car is not intelligent key or push start button. It uses a traditional key ignition. It seems like the harness that attaches to the actuator is not receiving enough voltage to activate the actuator.

Hi,

As far as voltage, you should be getting battery voltage, 12v. Let me know what you are seeing. If it's lower, we need to go back to the body control module (BCM) to see if there is an issue with the connection.

Now, believe it or not, the wiring schematics for the locks are three pages long. I had to cut each page in half to make them readable for you. I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next, and I highlighted the wires related to this issue.

At the actuator, there should be a brown and blue wire going to that actuator itself. Power to those wires is orange and the other is light blue. Both wires are able to transfer power. However, the make the switch go in opposite directions, polarity is switched. Basically, power to one wire will unlock, and power to the other wire will lock. Check that first. Note that you should see 12v.

After the schematics, I attached a troubleshooting guide for you. Let me know if it helps.

When I press the switch to lock I can see 10 volts on the brown cable at the actuator harness pin. Pressing the switch to unlock makes no voltage to the brown cable pin.
When I press the switch to lock or unlock it makes 0 voltage to the blue cable harness pin. It seems like the blue cable might be broken somewhere or not making contact at the door to body harness. I will test that next.

Hi,

You are absolutely correct. Based on your selection, lock or unlock, the blue wire functions as either a power supply or a ground. If it is broken, it won't work in either direction.

Let me know what you find as far as the wiring.

Take care,

Joe
