I have a dodge stratus 2001 4 cylinder 2.6L engine G series. 2 door. The radiator is overflowing into the resevoir. I've replaced most of the cooling system already, thermostat, temperature sensor and switch, resevoir container, pressure tested the system, new radiator cap, checked the oil dip stick for milky color oil. I'm thinking it might be the water pump but I don't know how to check to see if it is working? Another thought is maybe I have the wrong radiator cap 13 psi. Other cars like this have a 16 pound cap, I've called dodge and mitsubishi motors they can't tell me what pressure the correct cap should be?

To get the correct cap you need to show them the vin # and they will be able to pull it up easier im going to bet its the 16#. How much overflow are you getting. Its suppusto overflow a little bit because of expansion

The radiator cap that was on the car is the correct one. All I can think now is the waterpump, how would I ckeck it. The overflow coolant goes from the radiator to the resevoir when the car is hot, After turning the car off the resevoir is still boiling and over filled. While the car is cooling the resevoir level goes down to empty and sometime I have to refill the radiator about a quarter to half gallon of coolant. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?
