4 cyl Approx - 40k miles. Purchased used in Nov 2006. I skidded on the ice and the right front tire hit the curb. Every since then the engine makes a very loud "click clacking" noise when started & while driving. It sounds like a diesel engine. Twice, I started the car to warm it up and came back out and the engine had shut off. Also the engine oil lite will not go off. This too came on after I hit the curb. I had the oil & filter changed but it's still on. Firestone wouldn't touch it. They suggested I take it back to dealer but I bought "as is"without a warranty (yeah I know - dumb idea!!). Any repair advice or estimate costs??

Is the oil leaking out? Maybe the oil pan got hit, pushing it up against the oil pump pick-up.
