Hi pmokane. Welcome to the forum. If that is a single kind of loud clunk each time the ignition switch is turned to "crank", suspect worn solenoid contacts. The problem will get worse over time but for now it will start eventually if she cycles the switch enough times. The contacts can be replaced but most people just replace the entire starter.
If it's a rapid chattering type of clicking, suspect loose or corroded battery cables. A clue will be the head lights or dome lights will go out or get very dim when trying to start the engine. With worn solenoid contacts, the lights will stay bright when trying to crank the engine.
